I drew "STRENGTH" in 2017, just before stepping into one of the hardest chapters of my life. At the time, I didn’t know what was coming ~ I only knew that something poured through me one day, forming this code of balance + endurance.
For YEARS it hung above my bed, and each morning I would look at it. Quietly, it kept me steady. Subtly, it reminded me that strength isn’t supposed to be loud + macho...it’s the kind of cellular stability you build when literally everything else is falling apart.
When gazing at this piece, it's not so much to be understood in your head ~ I created it to be felt in your < body >. It’s a visual construct of what it means to hold yourself through collapse, through abuse, through endings that try to take you apart.
Strength doesn't mean never breaking ::: not at all. Breaking is a necessary, complex + juicy part of being human. It’s about what you root into when you *do* break. It’s about remembering you 1000% have the capacity to carry yourself through the fire and out the other side.
And when you hang this work, you’re inviting in a very specific c0de ~ one that assists you to claim your own stability, your own <backbone>, your own transmutation of whatever pain is present, into a power that stays with you forever.
