The beat came together very quickly one afternoon while waiting for a friend to come over (it seems to be a thing that the most impactful sessions happen when there's a time constraint), and I initially planned to leave it as an instrumental. But later that week, after a series of synchronicities, I was led to the work of Elizabeth B. Jenkins, whose writing offers deep insight into Q’ero wisdom. From there, it felt as though the rest of the track and vocal revealed and wound itself with this world. In Peruvian Q’ero mythology, Miskayani is said to be an ancient hidden city inhabited by highly evolved sacred women. It is described as existing between the Earth plane and higher ethereal realms.
